Hi! I'm a portrait photographer based in Saffron Walden & Cambridge, UK, drawing inspiration from the worlds of performance and fashion. I'm also an acrobat - specialising in acrobalance, juggling and stilts - though since acquiring a young family and a collection of injuries I spend more time teaching than performing.
My work draws on my own background of cabaret, acrobatics, dance and circus. I enjoy creating highly styled and elaborately lit theatrical portraits as well as figure studies, showing off the human form.
I love working with people and light to create something magical. I've studied both modern and vintage lighting techniques and can use either - or natural light - to create the right mood.
I work with professional and amateur models, dancers, acrobats and performers but not exclusively. I always welcome enquiries for collaborations or commissions from anyone who wants to create a portrait with a difference, no matter what their background. To find out more about how I work then please take a look at this blog post.
I've occasionally taught photography and given talks. If you think I can help you then drop me a line.
If you have a project or commission in mind, or if you wish to purchase or license one of my images then please do get in touch.
